all at once i want to still the perfect moments
but the dance must go on and i want that too
(paradoxical desire)
i’ll trust in chance screenshots
of memory and imagination
infinite dance in a finite space
but the giant Y spills out
pulls surrounding space
into the dance for a second
creating openings
a way in or a way out?

i’d thought this earlier but now it’s even more pronounced,
so many moments made perfect
because of what’s gone before
and what comes after
that’s the delightful paradox
suspended animation
amid inexorable change
it can’t be stilled
