    more foolish questions
what am i to do? i see beauty in this image*, yet it’s far from it.
    how to make ugly art?
although head tax stamp achieves it – there’s no denying the ugly horror of that image.

    * i like skeletons, and there’s something poignant about those twisted hands

I look down at my hands …close-up of hands with fingers interlaced….fingers entwined….four hands…with hard calluses from well-used weapons… a faint scar … another on my finger from a line cut while fishing… they show clear signs of warrior-aging…and…her little white fingers …equally crushed and squashed …oh…my God…oh…..straining veins and tendons that roll like gentle waves as I move my fingers….
anger….or …weakness ? And yet, when she holds them.. when she holds them, they

    To whom it may concern:

My name is Adrian Hill, and I am an educational project manager for Open School BC (OSBC), a cost-recovery educational publisher based in Victoria, BC, Canada. OSBC is primarily involved in the development of distance education course materials for K-12 students in the province, available in both print and online formats.

Currently, I am involved in conducting a revision to Open School?s grade 12 English course. One of the course modules is a Poetry module. In her first drafts, my writer for the module has included a copy of ?Bushhands? as an example of visual poetry.

I am contacting you in the interests of requesting permission to reproduce the poem/graphic in the Poetry module, in both print and online formats. On your blog, mention is made that all of the materials on the blog are freely given. Out of respect, I wish only to ensure that this applies not only to digital formats, but also to print-based resources.

Are you able to provide permission for Open School to reproduce this material? If so, then please provide any terms and conditions that would accompany its reproduction, including an acknowledgements attribution as you would like it to appear.

Please don?t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Your attention to this matter is very much appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Adrian
